CUTE TV
(which until 2003 was called fmd) has been through three main phases. The first live Friday show was
broadcast in January 2000, but during the preceding Michaelmas term in
1999, four entirely prerecorded shows were produced by the same team.
The first programmes called fmd were also prerecorded shows, broadcast
during the 1998-99 academic year - these were made by a small group of
students, but this predated the creation of CUTE.
We broadcast our live
studio shows every week during the Lent term 2000 (ie. from January 2000) and then continued throughout
the Easter holiday with cut-down programmes, including one entirely prerecorded
'best of' programme. During the Easter (summer) term we broadcast only two
live shows due to exam revision - two prior and one after the exam period.
fmd
returned in October 2000 until Christmas and then broadcast throughout the Lent term 2001 from Friday the 19th January
right through to the 23rd March. fmd began again on the 4th of May and broadcast the final show on
the 22nd of June, after a break for exams. It returned in
Autumn 2001 on the new day of Thursday at 6:30pm (the first show of term was at 7:30pm), and ran for 7 shows until breaking for Christmas.
It returned in January 2002 to Red TV on Thursday 24th January at 6:30pm for its final term before Red TV finally closed at the end of March.
In October 2002 fmd switched to screening across a range of screens in Cambridge, both on televisions in student bars and on projection screens in theatre and film venues, including nightclub's Life and Coco's. In January 2003 the show finally dropped the fmd name which had been being gradually phased out and was renamed CUTE TV. Check back for details of this term's shows.
The below is a comprehensive list of all fmd shows produced by CUTE. (Best viewed in Internet Explorer,

First shows produced by CUTE. fmd had been broadcast prior to this date but by a totally
different production team - I don't have details of these shows but they were radically different
in content to the fmds listed above! (generally far more serious in tone). This was prior to
the creation of CUTE. (I'll add details here if anyone can provide them -
email us)
Show listing first compiled by Gareth Moore 21/1/2001
Getting copies of shows
If you've been involved with the show then you can request copies of any
show. List all the tape numbers from the above list of tapes you want, and provide one 180 minute VHS
tape per tape number. You must label each tape with your name, email address and tape number
required. You will get a copy of all shows with the given tape number on that tape - no other compilations are
possible (it takes too long - sorry!). Some older shows have multiple tape numbers - in these cases you can pick
which tape you want so as to minimise the total number of tapes. If in doubt quote show dates too.
The best way to get a show copy is to bring along the requisite tapes to
the filming of fmd. Failing that, email me at gareth@cutetv.co.uk.
If you have not been involved with the shows and would like a copy of a show then please contact us.
